A small step into your morning.
UpRoar is an Android alarm app with wake tasks, phone-readiness checks and optional squad encouragement. It is designed for people who dismiss an alarm and return to sleep, and want a manageable action to start their morning.
Currently in reviewed beta. Approved testers receive a private Android APK download and complimentary beta access. UpRoar is not currently on Google Play. The website lets you apply and read guides; it is not a browser alarm.
What can I do with UpRoar?
- Choose wake tasks: speaking, maths, shaking, typing, memory, walking or scanning a QR code. Arrange up to four tasks per alarm and practise before bed.
- Check your phone: review alarm-related permissions and battery restrictions, then run a test alarm.
- See your progress: review morning history, habits and milestones.
- Get encouragement: join an optional squad. Snooze sharing is off for new alarms and can be chosen per alarm.
- Stay in control: a quiet typing alternative and a hold-to-stop option provide a way out when a task is unsuitable.
Which phones can run it?
UpRoar supports Android 8 and newer. There is no iPhone app currently. You can apply from a desktop or iPhone, but you need a compatible Android phone to test the APK. Device settings differ, so compatibility does not guarantee alarm delivery on every phone.
How do I join the beta?
Request beta access with your name, email, phone details and a short note about what would make mornings easier. Requests are reviewed. If approved, you receive a private download link and a code to activate complimentary access. Approval is not automatic.
Is UpRoar free?
Approved testers have complimentary access during the beta. When beta ends, active beta testers receive a fresh free trial, then can choose a subscription. No card is needed for beta or the trial, and ending either does not charge you automatically. Paid launch pricing is not yet available for purchase.
Existing alarms keep ringing and can be stopped after access expires. Creating or editing alarms, wake tasks, Progress and Squad require active access after the trial. See the current terms for details.
Will it always wake me?
No alarm app can guarantee that. Phone settings, battery restrictions and how you respond to an alarm all matter. Check readiness, practise your task and test on your own locked phone. Keep an independent backup for important mornings while testing beta software. A short successful test does not prove overnight reliability.
UpRoar is an alarm clock, not a medical device or sleep treatment. A wake task cannot replace enough sleep. Our morning guides offer practical checks and link to supporting sources.
What about my privacy?
Alarm schedules and personal history stay on your phone. Accounts and squad features use server services. Beta requests include limited technical context for review and abuse prevention; it is not proof of identity. Optional analytics have consent controls. Read the privacy policy and account deletion guide for the full details.
How do I contact the team?
Use beta feedback to report a bug or suggest an improvement, with screenshots or a short screen recording within the upload limits. For account or access help, email [email protected]. Do not include passwords, invitation codes or private health details in feedback.
