Delete your UpRoar account
You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app, without asking anyone. If you can't reach the app — phone lost, app uninstalled — email us and we'll do it for you.
From the app
- Open UpRoar and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account & export data.
- Optionally tap Export my data first — you'll get a JSON file containing everything we hold, saved wherever you choose.
- Enter your password and tap Delete forever.
It happens immediately. There is no grace period and no recovery, which is why we ask for your password rather than just a confirmation tap.
By email
Write to [email protected] from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We verify the request comes from that address and complete it within 30 days — in practice, within a few days. We'll email you when it's done.
What gets erased
Everything below is destroyed outright — not archived, not flagged as deleted:
- Your account: name, email address, password, and your "why".
- Your alarms, wake chain and settings.
- Your streak, best streak, shields and calendar history.
- Your wallet balance and full ledger.
- Every wake receipt and wake-up check.
- Your squad membership, and everything you posted in a squad.
- Nudges you sent, blocks you set, and reports you filed.
- Every sign-in session, so all devices are signed out.
What doesn't get erased, and why
- A squad you were in stays alive for the people still in it. If you were the last one out, it's deleted with you. If you owned it, ownership passes to whoever joined next. Messages the app posted about you are rewritten to say "Former member" rather than keeping your name.
- If someone referred you, their referral record survives — stripped of you. Your id and email are removed from it. The record stays because a reward they genuinely earned shouldn't be taken back to erase your data.
- Charity donations already made are permanent. Money that has left your wallet has gone to the charity, and can't be traced back or reversed. Any donation records we're legally required to retain hold the transaction, not you.
- Server backups roll off within 30 days. Your rows are gone from the live database at once; encrypted nightly snapshots taken before your deletion expire on their normal 30-day cycle, and aren't used for anything else.
Withdraw your wallet balance first. Deleting the account destroys the ledger, and we can't return money afterwards. The app warns you and shows the amount if there's anything left in there.
Deleting the app isn't deleting the account
Uninstalling UpRoar removes it from your phone and stops the alarms, but leaves your account on the server. Use one of the two routes above if you want it gone.
